3º PARADA: CENTRO DE VISITANTES EL PORTILLO

Entrada norte del parque, donde confluyen las carreteras que suben desde La Oratava y La Laguna

Situated in the north entrance, where converge roads which go up from La Orotava and La Laguna.

Se ha recreado el interior de un tubo volcánico, dispone de elementos interactivos, paneles fotográficos y retroiluminados, sala de videoteca, librería y salón de actos etc.

Here, they have recreated the interior of a volcanic pipe and it is also equipped with a range of interactive elements, back-lit photographic panels, video room, bookshop and assembly hall, where a video is screened.

JARDÍN BOTÁNICO (ANEXO)
Este jardín ocupa una parcela de unas 4 hectáreas anexa al centro de visitantes y ha sido creado para exponer, interpretar didácticamente, investigar y reproducir la flora autóctona, estando representadas más del 75 % de las especies superiores del Parque Nacional y posee un programa de recuperación de especies en peligro de extinción. En la actualidad se encuentra homologado a nivel internacional.

Botanic Garden (Annex):This garden covers a 4 hectare plot next to the visitors´ Centre and it has been created to exhibit, interpret, representing 75% of the National Park´s superior species. Has a programme to recover endangered species. It is currently convalidated internationally.

Guided tours: The National Park´s Interpretation Service offers free guided tours twice a day and leaving from the Cañada Blanca Visitors´ Centre and from the Portillo Alto Park Office.For those interested in a tour, you need to book in advance, calling the National Park office: Tel. 922 290 129 - 922 290 183 (Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.), or ask directly in the Visitors´ Centres.

Decir que en esta visita no pudimos disfrutar del centro como era debido, ya que la sala donde nos iban a proyectar un documental estaba cerrada por una avería en el proyector.
